Is your Seattle United player interested in becoming a licensed, paid youth soccer referee? If so, now is his or her chance! It is a well-paying ($20+ p/game), outdoor activity.
SYSA, Seattle United and the Seattle Soccer Referee Association (SSRA) have arranged Entry Level Referee Clinics with the USSF Referee Program. Big thanks to Duncan Munro, SYSA Referee Liaison, and Omar Willey at SSRA for their work in arranging the instructional teams for these clinics - a big task with very limited resources to pull from.
There are now three locally scheduled clinics (see below) available for registration online at: http://www.wasrc.org/clinicregistration. Also find there other program details including costs, program schedule and more. Referees must be a minimum of two years older than the players they officiate, and as official referee assignments start at the U10 age group, clinic registrants should be at least 12 on September 1st.
Saturday, July 28th - Ballard - Nordic Heritage Center
Saturday, August 4th - Shorelake - Shoreline Center
Saturday, August 11th - Woodland - John Marshall School
In the new clinics format there is no distinction between the online instruction for Grade 9 or Grade 8 referee licenses. Registrants study the same materials for both of these grades online prior to day of attendance at the clinic. The exam process during the day of attendance will determine the Grade a registrant qualifies at.
Participants are encouraged to read and follow all instructions fully, and if there are any questions, contact Omar Wiley (bc557@scn.org) or Dunca Munro (munrorodgers@comcast.net).
