Seattle United

Shawn Farrell joins Seattle United as an experienced, proven youth soccer coach with coaching and playing experience at the youth and collegiate levels.

His coaching philosophy is to promote a love for the game while teaching the 4 pillars of soccer through an age appropriate curriculum.  Shawn encourage competitiveness, creativity, self discipline, sportsmanship and personal responsibility based on an understanding that the game of soccer can teach fundamental principles that extend beyond the field.

Shawn has seven years experience as an Emerald City FC coach.  This includes four years head coach of the ECFC F92 White team, one of only 2 "B" teams in the entire state to achieve and retain premier 1 (P1) status every year.  His ECFC tenure also includes four years as the ECFC F92 Green assistant coach, the most successful ECFC female team in club’s history with four state champions and a Region IV championship.  Coach Farrell was the ECFC Coach of the Year in 2006. Shawn is a USSF National "C" licensed coach.  He played at Sonoma State University. NCAA Division II. 

Shawn is the Seattle University Assistant Athletics Director. He holds degrees from the University of Arkansas (BA) and the University of Washington (JD).
