Growing up in Arizona, Mike played 6 years for Arizona ODP as a defender. Three of those years he spent as part of the ODP West Regional Team, and he was invited to U.S. National Team tryouts in 1991 and 1992. A 4-Year Letter winner for Flowing Wells High School, Mike was awarded a scholarship to play for Junior College Division I soccer team for one year at Yavapai Community College, where his team would make it to the 1996 National Championship game.
Mike was awarded a Division I scholarship and played for three years at the University of New Mexico, where he graduated with a BA in Elementary Education. Mike would continue his career with the semi pro Tucson Amigos, and has spent summers working as a camp instructor at Eiger Arizona Pro Soccer Camp for 19 years.
Returning to his High School to be Assistant Coach for the Boys Team in 2003, Mike took over as Head Coach of Girls Team in 2008, where he would lead them to the 2009 Arizona State 4A Championship.
After teaching 3rd, 4th and 5th grade for the past eight years in Tucson’s largest school district, Mike, his wife and three boys now live in Seattle where he currently teaches at Concord International Elementary School in the Seattle Public School District.
Mike will be the Head Coach for Seattle United’s B01 NE Blue and B99 NE Blue teams for the 2012/2013 season.
