Luis Gamez -- Founding Club Coach

Luis Gamez

Luis joins the club with a very strong playing background and an approach to instruction that is educator-based.

Luis played his youth soccer with the Westside Metro Premier club in Beaverton, Oregon and with The Dalles High School (The Dalles, OR). He played his collegiate soccer with Seattle University.  His youth career included 1st Team All-State in 2002 and 2003, 1st Team All-League from 2000-2003, and he served as his high school team captain from 2000-2003.

Luis was a member of the Seattle University team that had a winning season in its first year of Division I soccer.  He was a member of the 2006 Seatlte University team that was the Farwest Regional Champion and National Final 8 and the 2004 squad that was the NCAA Division II National CHampion.  In 2006, Luis Luis was awarded First Team Academic All-GNAC.  Luis was the squad's most improved player in 2005. 

Luis has been a staff coach with the Seattle United Development Academy for the past year.  He has worked with the Peter Fewing Soccer Camps as a trainer.

He has worked the past five years in varying capacities with area elementary and middle schools as Luis has completed his collegiate education.  He is currently a teacher intern in the Seattle School District.

Luis graduated Magna Cum Laude from Seattle University with a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities for Teaching and a Minor in Spanish.  He will be completing his Masters in Teaching in summer 2010 from Seattle University.  During his college years, he has been the recipient of the Diversity Scholarship and the McCleary Scholarship.
