Jim started playing soccer in Northern California when he was five and continued through high school. After college, he picked up soccer again, playing in adult leagues. He still plays twice a week. Jim has coached boys and girls soccer teams nearly year-round for the past 7 years, including recreational and select teams. He holds a "D" coaching license.

Jim loves teaching the “language” that is soccer, and his highest hope is that the kids he coaches will develop the skills and passion for the game that will drive them to continue playing as adults. He uses a positive coaching style and is highly dedicated to his teams.

In addition to being a Seattle United coach, Jim is a professional engineer, having earned a degree in civil engineering from the University of Southern California.
