Brian has joined Seattle United with a large experience base working with youth in the middle school and high school ages.
Brian brings to Seattle United over 25 years of soccer playing experience, including 8 years of select (club) soccer and three years of varsity high school ball.
He has over 12 years of coaching experience at the rec and club levels in states of Michigan, Oregon and Washington. His most recent coaching activities have been centered around high school and youth club programs, including Walled Lake Western HS (Wixom, MI), Novi Soccer Club (Novi, MI), Springfield Soccer Club (Springfield, OR), South Eugene HS (Eugene, OR), Thurston HS (Springfield, OR).
His most recent position was head coach of the Roosevelt HS Boys's Varsity program for the past 4 years, until the birth of his son. During that period, Brian helped the program regain its successful reputation in KingCo 4A, regarded as one of the top two high school leagues in the state. Brian has been voted Coach of the Year for KingCo 4A. His Roosevelt program has graduated players that have gone onto play for the University of Washington, Oregon State University, Seattle University, Western WA University and St. Mary's College in Olympia.
His philosophy for coaching soccer has always been to instill the values of discipline, pride, sportsmanship and devotion towards the game. He believes coaching is a great opportunity to positively influence the lives of so many young people through the game of soccer.
Brian has Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Eastern Michigan University and a Master's degree in K-8 Education from City University, with a middle school math/science endorsement. He has been teaching 7th grade math for the past 4 years at Whitman Middle School in Seattle.
