Jimmy Ward joins Seattle United with stand-out playing and coaching credentials.
Jimmy played 7 years with West Villa Thunder (Portland) where they want the state cup championship each year. He was an Oregon State and Regional ODP camp participant 3 of those years. He trained a summer in Scotland with Falkirk FC before starting his collegiate career with Seattle Pacific University.
During his four years with SPU, he earned 4-year starter role, was named team captain, achieved #2 all-time career saves in SPU history, was a 4-time 1st Team All-League, and was the 1st freshman to start at goalkeeper since SPU alum Marcus Hahnemann (currently with the English Premier League's Wolverhampton Wanderers and US National Team). Upon graduation, Jimmy signed with the USL 1st Division Seattle Sounders where he played for 3 years.
His coaching experience includes 1 year directing the goalkeeper program for the Evergreen Soccer Club, 1 year as a Staff Goalkeeper Coach with NW Nationals. and 6 years as Staff Goalkeeper Coach with Crossfire Premier Soccer Club. He was a Staff Coach with the Washington ODP Program for 1 year. For the past 4 years, Jimmy has been the Assistant Men's Soccer Coach (Goalkeeper Coach) for SPU.
