This list details the duties of the various volunteer positions that people can sign up for that ensure a smooth tryout process.
Lead Volunteer
- Contact all volunteers with a reminder e-mail three days before date of tryout.
- Arrive at field 1.75 hours prior to scheduled tryout.
- Assist SU staff in set-up, orient volunteers as they arrive at the field.
- Be willing to wear as many ‘hats’ as needed.
- Must be willing to commit to entire length of scheduled tryout, all days.
- Approval from volunteer coordinator and SU staff required to sign-up.
Registration Support –
- Arrive at field as scheduled to set-up player registration stations.
- Jobs will include sign-in (including collection of med release forms, verifying contact information, filing, etc), regional marker distribution, pinnie or numbered bib sorting and distribution.
Registration Wrap-Up –
- This shift at the end of each tryout supports the collection of numbered pinnies, re-sorts them into numbered bins, and covers take-down at the last tryout of the day.
- Must be willing to work until finished – may not be able to leave when tryout wraps-up.
Walk-up Registration Support –
- Work with SU registrar to assist w/walk-up registration.
- Includes customer service, collection of med release forms, filing, payment collection.
Photographer –
- Will photograph each player as they move through the registration process.
- Will work in a pair to ensure that all players are photographed prior to entering the field.
- Track photographs (check-off, mark player).
Field Greeters –
- Will offer direction from parking lot to player registration.
- Will check players for ‘photo mark’.
- Prevent parents from entering field.
- Help as needed in this ‘rover’ role.
First Aid Support –
- Will work in a pair to staff the medical tent.
- Will offer basic first aid (ice or bandages as needed). No medical background needed.
