Seattle United Juniors Academy - Summer Program
The SEATTLE UNITED Summer Developmental Program will provide only extremly motivated SYSA players with the opportunity to take advantage of player-centric training without formal team formation. Many players within SYSA desire professional-level, quality soccer training in the summer months with an emphasis on technical development and having fun. Throw in challenging yet informal games and you have the SEATTLE UNITED Juniors Program!
The Summer Program is for SYSA (non-select/premier) players, boys and girls, who have a love for the game of soccer, a serious desire to improve and the commitment to do so.
(if you are commited to participanting in the Juniors program in the Summer 2012, Winter 2013 and Spring 2013 you can receive a discounted price of $500 when registering)
The seasonal year for the Juniors program will be divided into “sub-seasons”. Players in the program will have the option of playing in all sub-seasons or opting into any of them. Here is a general outline of what can be expected (check website for specific details):
Winter Season: This sub-season will be heavily focused on Futsal training.
Futsal is a type of indoor soccer that is played on hard court surfaces defined by lines and not walls. The rules of Futsal create an emphasis on improvisation, creativity and technique, as well as ball control and passing in tight spaces. Many of the best players in the world grew up playing Futsal…it will be a very valuable tool in the development of our young Seattle United players. The Futsal sub-season will culminate with an in-house Futsal tournament.
Spring Season: This sub-season will see the players play other RCL club teams.
These game days will be set up in a way that doesnt conflict with SYSA spring league games. They will be focused on fun, with no scores or standings being kept it gives the players an opportunity to experience playing outside of their neighborhood.
Summer: This sub-season will be a Technical and Tactical Developmental Program.
Players will get the opportunity to practice in a professional, academy-style training environment during the week and be placed on teams for game days each Sunday against other RCL Club teams and Academy teams.
Fall Season: SYSA League Season Starts!
No programming.
No. The players that choose to take part in the Seattle United Juniors program will not be asked to leave their rec teams. They will play and train with their teams throughout the Fall as normal.
