The Spring 2012 SEATTLE UNITED Player Development Academy provides an outstanding opportunity for serious and dedicated young soccer players to challenge themselves and develop the skills necessary for higher level competition. Through games and drills focused on dribbling, ball mastery, precise passing and receiving, shooting and small sided games, players will develop the fundamental skills and techniques essential to moving their game to the next level.
As an added feature this spring, select players from the Spring PDA will be invited to represent the Seattle United Juniors in games against other Regional Club League (RCL) Junior Academy teams. Through a competitive game-like environment, players will learn to apply their newfound skills a creative confidence. Players will be selected each week based on attendance, attitude, eagerness to learn and overall work rate/energy. Depending on numbers, not every player will be selected for a game day.
The spring Player Development Academy consists of 6 (1.5 hour) sessions on Friday evenings. This program will help stimulate every young player’s development while also serving to prepare players that may be interested in joining Seattle United through the tryout process in May.
The SEATTLE UNITED PDA curriculum will be designed and delivered by the Seattle United coaching staff with oversight from Technical Director Jason Farrell. This will ensure that each player will not only learn from the best coaches around, but will also benefit from the passion, care and dedication that only the SU staff can provide.
